Conceptualee Publishing and Afribiz, in partnership with Nixon Peabody Law Firm and Lex Noir, are partnering to release the book, Business, Investment, Trade, and Entrepreneurship in Africa: A Reader (ISBN-13: 978-0-9833015-9-2), which will serve as a textbook in academic curriculum in upper level undergraduate and graduate courses. This will serve as one of the few academic resources readily available to university and colleges in every global region that covers business and investment in Africa. It will serve both the faculty and student audiences. It will be published in the Spring of 2013.
Scope
This reader will focus on presenting the dynamics of business in Africa and Africa in a global context. It is important to provide perspectives that help students see the interplay of factors not just isolated facts. The reader will consist of four sections: 1) The African Context, 2) Business, Economics, and Trade in Africa, 3) Banking, Finance, Capital Markets, and Investment in Africa, and 4) Entrepreneurship and Innovation in Africa.
Authors Being Sought
While this is an academic book, we need authors that have an understanding of, knowledge of, and expertise of business, investment, and trade as it actually happens on the continent. That means authors can be academics who have conducted applied research studies, developed case studies, etc., as well as professionals like analysts, trade specialists, economists, fund managers, investment advisors, and researchers with direct experience on the continent.
